Full Description
Site recorded during a survey of the townships of North and South Screapadal plus the surrounding area carried out by the Association of Certificated Field Archaeologists (ACFA) in April 1998 as part of a continuing programme of recording the physical remains of human activity on the island of Raasay.
Feature 14; House . About 20m to the south of the firebreak route to sites 15 and 16 and 30m south east of site 15, is a heavily moss covered dry-stone building. None of the trees is marked for hand cutting. The building measures 10m by 3m on a north south axis, standing to a height of 0.8m. There is an entrance two thirds of the way along the east wall and a possible small window midway along the west side. There is no evidence of a dividing wall and little tumble internally. <1>
