The Argyll Estate Instructions (Cregeen 1965) describe 'the inclosure of this hill in the wintertown of Rahoy begins at the west end and goes round the whole hill' which is possibly the enclosure around Torr an Fhamhair. It was costed at #9 18s 0d. The dyke on the E side of the hill is well-preserved although on the N it becomes fragmentary. The 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Argyllshire 1875, sheet xl) suggests that this boundary originally followed the burn down to the shore.
