Full Description

This farmstead stands in a clearing within an immature forestry plantation. Although it has not been planted with conifers, the site was overgrown with weeds on the date of visit, obscuring the details of the remains. Nevertheless, the footings of at least four rectangular stone-walled buildings and two rectangular enclosures could be identified, one of the buildings retaining most of its WSW gable. The 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire 1876, sheet xxviii) depicts five roofed buildings and two enclosures here, and it is described in the Name Book (ONB 1876) as 'a small farmhouse one storey high with suitable out offices. The whole are thatched and in middling repair'. All five buildings are shown as roofless on the 2nd edition of the map (Inverness-shire 1904, sheet xxviii).
