8 August 1883, WILLIAMINA, 3 yrs old, not registered, wooden lug, 18 tons, 6 crew, Master and Owner J. McKay, Lybster, departed Wick for fishing, in ballast, 6 lives lost, wind SSE9, foundered, total loss, about 1 mile N.E. of Bruan Head, Caithness.

The map sheet assigned to this record is essentially arbitrary. Neither Clyth Ness nor Bruan Head is noted on the 1999 edition of the OS 1:50,000 map. Bruan lies inland, around ND 313 395, while Clythness (Ousbacky) Lighthouse (ND23NE 29) is at ND 29072 36294.
