NLO: Keiss [name: ND 347 612]
Keiss Castle [name: ND 356 617]
Sinclair's Bay [name centred ND 37 56].

Possibly on map sheet ND36SW.

Whittaker cites the location of this stranding as between the Burn of Wester and the old lifeboat shed, 3 miles S of Keiss. The old lifeboat shed cannot be identified from the available map evidence but the Burn of Wester is probably to be equated with the Burn of Lyth, which flows through the Loch of Wester and enters Sinclair's Bay at ND 340 576.
Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 27 September 2002.
I G Whittaker 1998.
