NC 5808 0237 This burnt mound was investigated in 1990 as part of the excavations relating to the improvement of the A836 road. Excavation revealed a kidney-shaped burnt mound with an overall diameter of c 6.5m, a shallow, central earth-cut trough and drainage sluice, and some stone revetment of the mound material. The trough appears to have been cut through existing mound material, suggesting this burnt mound a composite monument with more than one episode of use.
