Full Description

A single phase buiilding (desc as mid C19 by J Duncan) with modern porch & garage. But seems to be slotted within older garden walling/terracing, that survives in places to up to over 1m high. Walling on SW side affected by modern bungalows, but old gatepost here and some very large pieces of worked stone. Site of farm steadings covered by bungalows - no trace survives above ground - HAW 11/2004

Application to demolish farmhouse 04/00192/DEMNA. The farm buildings are already gone. Depicted on the 1st ed OS with house to same footprint and with farm steadings to NE lage block around three sides of a court with building in centre at 288810 856625.
Farm depicted on Woods map of Nairn c1822 as a line of long buildings. Burgh Survey identifies Merryton as being part of the burgh althogh lying on the opposite of the river to the planned town element - HAW 11/2004
