Full Description
Smerary, The remains of the farmstead are obscured and largely overlaid by a modern sheepfold. An old corn-drying kiln survives in fair condition.
Visited by OS 16 March 1982.
A farmstead comprising two conjoined unroofed long buildings, one of which is T-shaped, what may be another unroofed building and two enclosures is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1876, sheet xxii). Four unroofed structures and three enclosures are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10,560 map (1963).
