Visited by OS (J B) 1 September 1982.

In, or near to cairn at Old Stirkoke (MHG1930) a large long cist containing a skeleton was found in 1882.
In an adjoining field, and a few yards from the cairn, ploughing uncovered four more cists. 'They were all lying nearly due east and west, and were of the rudest description, being formed of pavement slabs, in one case measuring 8 feet by 2, and in another 4 feet by 2. In these graves the bones were nearly decomposed and nothing of special interest was observed in connection with them.'
