Full Description
1888 2 cists were found 22m apart in morainic mound at Aonach on farm of Drummond. Each contained an inhumation and one was accompanied by a Food Vessel and a fragment of bronze (RMS(NMAS) EQ 601-2).

An unworked piece of flint found near one of cists was in the possession of Mr W Urquhart, Evanton, in 1890.
PSAS 1890. <3>
Mr Moore, farmer at Drummond, indicated place known as 'The Uonach or Aonach', It is an area of about 40.468 hectarea of generally flat cultivated land centred at NH 594 653. At W end of this area, centred at NH 591 652, three morainic mounds are discernible, merging slightly into one another. There are no remains of cists and it is not possible to say which of 3 mounds contained them.
Visited by OS (RDL) 5 May 1963.
Local information, supplied at a Community Timeline course, held by ARCH, said that this area was known locally as 'The Clan Graves'. No longer visible. <4>
The bronze was catalogued and photographed as part of the North Kessock & District Local History Society and Archaeology for Communities in the Highlands (ARCH) collaborative 'Feats of Clay' Project, which was focused on Bronze Age metalworking around the Moray Firth. It was an awl, missing its tip measuring 21mm. It was assigned an Early Bronze Age date. <5>
