Full Description

NG37SE 9 3986 7021.

At NG 3986 7021 is a circular stone-walled hut measuring 10.0m overall diameter. The outer face is visible intermittently and one inner facing stone in the NW, immediately N of the entrance, gives a wall thickness of 1.9m at this point. Elsewhere the width of the wall cannot be determined as it has been mutilated by peat cuttings. The simple entrance 1.1m wide is flanked on its NE side by two earthfast stones and on the SW by one earthfast stone. The surrounding area has been dug for peat and no signs of any contemporary cultivation were found.
Surveyed at 1/2500.
Visited by OS (I S S) 9 September 1971.
