Full Description
The fragmentary footings of a rectangular building are situated at the S edge of the birch woodland to the WSW of Croft of Clune. The building measures 17.6m from NE to SW by 3.5m internally, with two, or possibly three, compartments and an enclosure to the SE. The 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire 1872, sheet ci) depicts the building as roofed, together with a further roofed building to the W and two unroofed buildings to the NW, of which nothing was visible amongst the dense vegetation on the date of visit. A limekiln (KING95 454) which is also depicted and labelled on the 1st edition map has been buried under a heap of field clearance.
