A large area of clearance cairns at Hill of Urchany.

At NH 8920 5058 on a rise with an extensive view to the N and W on the Hill of Urchany, is a cairn measuring 12m in diameter and c. 1m high. Two kerb-stones survive in situation in SW and others are displaced in NE arc. The centre has been dug into.
Around the cairn and for about 200m to N and E are numerous stone clearance heaps obscured by peat and reafforestation. One, about 50m NE of cairn, has been excavated.
Cairn surveyed at 1/2500. Visited by OS (A A) 5 February 1971.
These features are now obscured by dense forest.
