Full Description

NN69NE 9 6717 9979

At NN 6727 9986 is an oval stone-walled house measuring 9.0m E-W by 8.0m, between the centres of a wall spread to 2.0m. The mutilated entrance is in the E.
Around the house, and extending to the SW, are a few stone clearance heaps from contemporary cultivation.
About 50m W of the house is a semi-circular wall spread to 2.0m, measuring 9.5m between its ends. This could be the NW half of an otherwise destroyed hut circle.
Hut surveyed at 1/10,000.
Visited by OS (A A) 16 May 1974.

Two discrete groups of small cairns, numbering about twenty in total and measuring up to 4m in diameter and 0.4m in height, are disposed across the heather- and rough grass-covered ground to the SSE and ENE of Creagan na h-Eighlich. The SSE side of the group of cairns to the SSE of the crags is marked by a linear clearance heap running along the edge of the boggy ground. No traces of the hut-circles described by the OS were found on the date of visit, although natural terraces and breaks of slope were observed in the locations identified.
