Full Description

Excavation Report -
1) Ring ditch enclosure which would have housed substantial timber uprights of a stockade around a knoll. Enclosure measured 28-30m diam. Dating not secure.
2) Circular buildings, seemingly outwith the enclosure (above).
3) Sub-rectangular building - slate bracelet recovered from this foundation trench. Date between 1200BC and 800AD.
4) Circular enclosure, probably earlier than 1.
5) Another possible circular enclosure.
6) Other material - prehistoric pottery, pob. Bronze Age, found in various trenches.
Probably Late Bronze Age on basis of similar monuments, most likely an annual stockade.
Other structures - occupation subsiduary to or attendant on the stockade enclosure.
