Full Description
NH92SE 12 9714 2416.
NH 9714 2416. On a false crest at about 850ft OD is a Wessex-type embanked cairn preserved within a near square modern plantation dyke. The cairn, quarried from the SW, measures about 14.0m in diameter and survives to a height of about 2.0m The surrounding bank spread to about 3.0m wide is 19.5m in diameter between its centres and is partially destroyed by the planation dyke in the N, E and S.
Surveyed at 1/2500.
Visited by OS (A A) 17 February 1971.
Oram 1996 p. 27 calls this Bronze Age.
