Formerly entered as ND27NW 8011 at cited location ND c. 203 768 [N58 40.3 W3 22.5].
Possibly on map sheets ND17NE or ND27SW.
Not to be confused with ND25NW 8003.
The WILLIAM, Newhall, of & for Liverpool, from Petersburg, was driven on shore on Dunnet Sands, near Thurso, on 21st instant. Cargo expected to be saved, and the vessel got off, if the weather continued moderate.

The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative. Dunnet Sands are not noted as such on the 1999 edition of the OS 1:50,000 map, but the name may be taken to apply to the extensive sands that extend from ND 216 709 to ND 204 683, around the SE side of Dunnet Bay.
