NMRS Report: (25/06/2004)
NH53SW 80 5197 3071
The farmsteading at Wester Balnaban comprises four buildings. Two are roofed, the westernmost of which bears the initials AG above its doorway. To the N of the track to the steading there are the remains of a rectangular building, measuring 8.8m by 3.1m within a clay-mortared rubble wall, which stands to a height of 0.6m. It is aligned ENE-WSW, with a doorway on the SSE side, and is built on a platform levelled into the slope. The fourth building lies to the E of the roofed buildings; on the date of visit it was obscured by its corrugated iron roof, which had collapsed over the building.
