Liverpool, 24th Dec. [1872], considerable quantities of wreckage have been coming ashore since 22nd Dec., in the neighbourhood of Wick, among other articles pieces of two large masts, and nameboard, with 'CERES' in gilt letters cut into the wood.

The map sheet and quasi-administrative area assigned to this record are arbitrary, being derived from the reported location of disovery of wreckage. The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), but the wreckage may derive from the loss noted as ND39SE 8008.
