A ploughed-down field boundary and what may be an enclosure have been recorded as cropmarks on oblique aerial photography (RCAHMSAP 2000) lying on level ground about 170m SW of Balcarse. The field boundary is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire 1876, sheet xi). An arc of ditch lying immediately SW of the field boundary may be the S side of a curvilinear enclosure.
