NLO: Glenelg Bay [name: NG 803 198].
Possibly on map sheet NG82SW.
Formerly entered as NG82SW 8002.
Corry, Isle of Skye, 9th Feb [1824]. `The UNION of Leith, Goodman, from Bangor to Berwick, was driven on shore in the Bay of Glenelg [Glenelg Bay] during a gale of wind on Friday last. The crew, materials and provisions saved, and it is expected the vessel, when lightened: at present she is on a bank of sand, with 12 feet water in her hold.' [Record received incomplete].
NMRS, MS/829/71 (no. 6357).
The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), presumably suggesting her successful recovery.
Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 29 November 2004.
