NLO: Sand [name: NG 680 491]
Applecross [name: NG 711 445]
Inner Sound [name centred NG 64 40].

Possibly on map sheet NG65SW.

Applecross, Dec. 12, a fishing smack belonging to Gairloch, came ashore at Sand Point, Applecross, and became a total wreck: no lives lost.
Source: Miscellaneous, Shipping Intelligence, LL, No. 21,414, London, Saturday December 16 1882.
NMRS, MS/829/70 (no. 5410).

Sand Point is not noted as such on the 1998 edition of the OS 1:10,000 map. The name presumably applies to the ill-defined promontory around the farmstead or croft of Sand.
The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998).
Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 4 February 2005.
