This disused quarry is situated at the edge of a field of pasture 24m ESE of the farmhouse at North Yarrows steading (ND34SW 148). Roughly oval on plan, it measures 3.5m from ESE to WNW by 2.1m transversely and the exposed rock face on the NW is 0.7m high. The quarry is not depicted on either the 1st or 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet xxix; 1907, sheet xxix).
