ND34SW 187 32779 43945
This disused quarry is situated on top of a low ridge in a cultivated field about 100m E of Melbourne Cottage farmsteading (ND34SW 183). Roughly oval on plan, it measures 7.4m from NNE to SSW by 5m transversely and is filled with field-cleared stones and boulders. The quarry is not depicted on either the 1st or 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet xxix; 1907, sheet xxix).
