This disused quarry has been dug into the E face of a low rise in a field of pasture 150m WNW of Gansclet farmsteading (ND34SW 207). It forms an irregular exposure of rock measuring 58m in length from NNW to SSE by 0.6m in height. The quarry is not depicted on either the 1st or 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet xxix; 1907, sheet xxix).
