This disused sandstone quarry is situated in rough pasture about 135m N of Whiteleen farmsteading (ND34SW 126). Irregular on plan, it measures about 5m from E to W by up to 2 transversely and 1m in depth. The quarry is not depicted on either the 1st or 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet xxix; 1907, sheet xxix).
