ND34SW 342 32442 41571

This disused limestone quarry is situated in a field of pasture about 30m S of the former Ulbster School. Oval on plan, it measures 14m from NNW to SSE by 10m transversely and has been dug into the E-facing slope to a depth of 2m. Living rock is visible on the N side of the grass-grown interior. The quarry is not depicted on either the 1st or 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet xxix; 1907, sheet xxix).
