Full Description

NMRS Report: (18/05/2006)
ND34SW 374 ND 30460 40239

This disused quarry, which is situated in heather moorland 260m NW of the ruins of the small farmstead ND34SW 371, measures 14m from NNW to SSE by 7m transversely and is up to 1.5m in depth on the E. The pit is not depicted on either the 1st or 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet xxix; 1907, sheet xxix) and it was probably opened to provide material for the farm track that runs past its W side.
