Cairn (NR) OS 1:10,000 map, (1976)

Cairn, Rubha Dearg: On a slight knoll on the E side of a small rocky inlet there are the grass-grown remains of a cairn which originally measured about 12m in diameter. Almost all the NE half has been removed to build a nearby wall, and what survives of the SW portion stands up to 2m in height. Situated in the centre of the cairn there is an oval depression measuring 1.7m from N to S by 1.1m transversely and 0.3m in depth; this marks the site of a cist in which human remains were discovered (information from Mr I Thornber, Ardtornish).
RCAHMS 1980, visited 1973.

The remains of this cairn were in a similar condition when seen in 1970. Surveyed at 1:2500.
Visited by OS (NKB) 16 June 1970.
