This disused quarry is situated in an area of improved pasture 90m SE of an abandoned farmsteading of Craigmillan (ND34NW 34). Oval on plan, it measures 27.5m from N to S by 12.5m transversely and up to 0.5 m in depth, and there is a low spoil-tip on its E side. The quarry is depicted on both the 1st and 2nd editions of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet xxix; sheet xxix); on the latter it is annotated `Old Quarry'.
