Full Description
NMRS Report: (02/09/2005)
NH77NE 41 77707 79221
This farmstead site was recorded during archaeological fieldwork and a desktop survey ahead of a proposed water mains renewal programme in the area. It is depicted as roofed rectangular building with attached enclosures to the S and W on the 1870s 1st edition OS map. It is marked as unroofed on the 2nd edition of 1906, with a well present too. A roofed and an unroofed building are shown on the latest OS map. A site visit revealed a small building of dressed rubble. It has a corrugated iron roof and has chimneys at both gable ends. It is empty and abandoned but still complete. To the rear are the remains of a building, possibly a barn.
