Staxigo [Staxigoe], 20th Nov. `The JANE, Kirkwall, from Wick, stranded in Sinclair's Bay 12th ult., was got off yesterday, and carried to Akkergill [Ackergill] Harbor.

NMRS, MS/829/71 (no. 7330).

The map sheet and quasi-administrative area assigned to this record are arbitrary, being derived from the reported location of discovery of wreckage. Kiess or Keiss Bay is not noted as such on the 1999 edition of the OS 1:50,000 map.
The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), presumably on account of her successful recovery.
Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 5 September 2005.
