NLO: Loch Eriboll [name centred NC 44 60]
Pentland Firth [name centred ND 35 81].
Loch Erribol [Eribol], 25th Oct. `A brig, belonging to Ardrossan, has broken from her anchors & gone ashore: crew saved.'

`The LORD MONTGOMERY, Kelso, of Ardrossan, from St. Petersburg to the Clyde, was driven on shore at Loch Erribol [Eriboll], 22nd ult., and bilged: cargo damaged.'

The map sheet assigned to this record is essentially arbitrary. Although not linked in the original, the two primary accounts cited probably refer to the same stranding.
The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), possibly suggesting her subsequent recovery.
