Full Description
NMRS Report: (21/11/2005)
NN58NE 9 5649 8921
A poorly constructed drystone walled structure was recorded here during a detailed archaeological survey of Strathmashie Community Forest near Laggan, Highland. The survey was carried out to assess the evidence for past human use and to ascertain whether there was enough archaeology to develop a heritage trail in the forest. The walls extend out from the bedrock face to form a U-shape, approximately 2m x 1.5m. The remains are likely to be a shooting butt or temporary foresters' shelter.
