Full Description

NMRS Report: (24/11/2005)
NN58NE 30 5550 8935

The remains of a small stretch of collapsed walling were recorded here during a detailed archaeological survey of Strathmashie Community Forest near Laggan, Highland. There is another wall, a better-preserved boundary wall, that runs parallel with the other section, about 15m apart. They form a small enclosed space which local information suggests is an old estate garden. The survey was carried out to assess the evidence for past human use and to ascertain whether there was enough archaeology to develop a heritage trail in the forest.
