Full Description
NMRS Report: (24/11/2005)
NN59SE 54 5854 9302
The remains of a building and a possible platform, standing in light forestry, were recorded here during a detailed archaeological survey of Strathmashie Community Forest near Laggan, Highland. The building measures 10.1m x 3.9m externally and is defined by collapsed drystone walls, tumbled to 1.5m across and 0.5m high. The remains of a right-angled drystone wall extends off the SW side of the structure creating a platform built up on the SW side. The survey was carried out to assess the evidence for past human use and to ascertain whether there was enough archaeology to develop a heritage trail in the forest.
