Two structures were found in an open area of forestry during a detailed archaeological survey of Strathmashie Community Forest near Laggan, Highland. The first feature consists of a U-shaped pile of cobbles, 7m x 10m. The cobbles are heavily turfed over and the pile is 1.5m wide and 0.4m high. Around 15m to the S is an elongated pile of cobbles and boulders tapering off to the E. This pile is 8m x 3m and 0.7m high. They could be heavily disturbed building remains or perhaps clearance cairns or plough upcast from forestry works. The survey was carried out to assess the evidence for past human use and to ascertain whether there was enough archaeology to develop a heritage trail in the forest.
