The remains of a camp used by the Newfoundland Overseas Forestry Unit during WWII were recorded here during a detailed archaeological survey of Strathmashie Community Forest near Laggan, Highland. The camp is thought to have been built and used by workers constructing the main road some years before the Unit used it.The survey was carried out to assess the evidence for past human use and to ascertain whether there was enough archaeology to develop a heritage trail in the forest.
