This weir spans the River Averon or Alness River to the S of Alness (NH66NE 34) and SW of Dalmore House (NH66NE 67). The river here forms the boundary between the parishes of Alness (to the W) and Rosskeen (to the E).
The location assigned to this record defines the midpoint of the structure. The available map evidence indicates that it extends from NH c. 65585 68982 to NH c. 65624 68949.
