180769 880860 Loch Bad A' Chreamh 3 HAB003: The hut circle was visited by A MacInnes in 2010 as part of research for a dissertation on hut circles in Wester Ross for A Welti. The circular stone structure is situated directly beside a stream, on nearly level ground with a southern aspect. The landscape is undulating grazed grassland. The platform is slightly dug in to the N and slightly raised to the S. The HC walls have a well defined inner edge with large boulders. The outer edge has sunk into the peat. Average internal diameter is 5.45m, external diameter is 8.4m. The double skinned wall is 1.2m thick with maximum height 0.5m. The entrance is interesting, being wide internally and with 2 extended terminals. Width is 0.6m externally and 2m internally with passage length 3m. There are wide inland views from the site. This hut circle seems to be associated with a cluster of 8 structures in all, HAB001 (see MHG49704) distant 200m, HAB002 (see MHG49721), 120M distant, HAB004 (see MHG49723) distant 200m, HAB005 (see MHG49720), HAB006 (see MHG49719), HAB007 (see MHG49705), and HAB008 (see MHG49706). These are all sited near to an ancient trackway from Naast to Sand River and Gairloch. <2> <3>
