189030 882263 Coille Eagasgarg 2 MB002: The hut circle was visited by J Buchanan in 2010 as part of research for a dissertation on hut circles in Wester Ross for A Welti. This circular stone structure lies on a gentle west facing slope with wide views inland, near the edge of woodland in an area is grazed by cattle. The structure is neat and complete. It is on an elevated knoll which has been further built up from the natural ground surface. The entrance has two extended terminals. Average inner diameter is 9.5m, outer diameter is 11.85m. The double skinned wall is 1.3m thick with maximum height 0.7m. The entrance faces east and has width 1m both internally and externally. The entrance passage is 2.8m long and the entrance has two extended terminals. Adjoining the knoll is a flat platform bounded by a stone reinforced revetment. There are two long dry mounds to SE of this platform, (see 2nd sketch). The area has been heavily dug into by badgers. This circular stone structure seems to be part of a group of 7: MB001 (see MHG49734); MB003 (see MHG7749), MB004 (see MHG57301), MB005 (see MHG57302), MB006 (see MHG57303) and MB007 (see MHG57304). <2> <3>
