NJ01NW 28 NJ 03226 16424
The remains of this small farmstead are situated on the N bank of the Faesheallach Burn 1.1km SSW of Lurg farmsteading (NJ01NW 24). It comprises a building, probably a dwelling, with a smaller structure immediately E and a circular enclosure 18m to the NE. The principal building measures 12.8m from NNE to SSW by 5.2m transversely over walls reduced to grass-grown footings up to 0.5m in height. The interior contains two compartments and there is a central entrance on the ESE. The smaller structure measures about 4.1m from NE to SW by 3.1m transversely over footings and has an entrance on the NW. The circular enclosure measures about 5.5m in diameter and has an entrance on the SE.
The larger of the two buildings is depicted roofed on both the 1st and 2nd editions of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire 1874, sheet LX; 1902, sheet LX); neither the other building nor the enclosure is shown on either map.
Visited by RCAHMS (JRS, PMcK) 23 August 2006.
