This limekiln, which stood on the N side of a track some 30m E of the former mill at Mill of Garlyne, was not found on the date of visit. The kiln is depicted on the1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire 1874, sheet XLVIA), but it is not shown on the 2nd edition of the map (1902, sheet XLVIA). However, Mrs Millar, the present occupant of the farmhouse at Mill of Garlyne, remembers that the kiln was still visible until comparatively recently.
Visited by RCAHMS (JRS) 26 September 2006.
