Cordon Burn
Building; Enclosures

This building is situated in moorland about 580m SE of Burnside farmsteading (NJ02NE 21). Subrectangular on plan, it measures 8.9m from NE to SW by 4.9m transversely over faced rubble walls 0.8m in thickness and up to 0.4m in height. Two small enclosures respectively lie 75m and 108m SW of the building, on the opposite side of the Cordon Burn.
Of the three structures, only the smaller of the two enclosures is depicted on either the 1st or 2nd edition of the OS 6-inch map (Elginshire 1874 sheet XXXIII; 1903, sheet XXXIII). It is shown roofed on the earlier map, unroofed on the later.
