NMRS, MS/829/72 (no. 10520).

(Classified as schooner, with cargo of herring: date of loss cited as 25 December 1863). Aid: this vessel stranded Rassay (N end?), and was expected to become a loss. Capt. Thomas (Thomson?) Capt. Hurd.
Registration: Kirkwall. 62grt. Length: 18m. Beam: 5m.
(Location of loss cited as N57 30.0 W6 0.0).
I G Whittaker 1998.

The map sheet assigned to this record is essentially arbitrary. It remains unclear whereabouts on this extensive island the vessel was lost. It remains unclear why Whittaker suggests a location near the N end of the island: this lies at NG 63 61. The Sound of Raasay and the Inner Sound lie to the W and E respectively of this elongated island.
