This limekiln is situated in a small copse of Scots Pine about 130m NW of Upper Craggan farmsteading. U-shaped on plan with an open NW end, it measures 8.2m from NW to SE by 5.6m transversely over walls reduced to low, grass-grown banks 2.5m in thickness. The pot, which is situated at the SE end of the kiln, has been set into the NW-facing slope to a depth of at least 1m.
The kiln is depicted on both the 1st and 2nd editions of the OS 6-inch map (Elginshire 1874, sheet xxxii; 1905, sheet xxxii NE), but it is annotated only on the earlier map.
