NH92NE 4.05 NH 99934 26068
This large outcrop of grey schist is situated 100m NNW of the pair of cupmarked outcrops NH92NE 4.02 & 4.03. It can be equated with the boulder noted as 'G' on the Ordnance Survey Record Card. Its SE face bears at least forty-one cupmarks measuring up to 35mm in diameter and 8mm in depth.
Visited by RCAHMS (AG) 12 October 2006).
This panel was recorded as part of the ScRAP (Scotland’s Rock Art project) by members of NoSAS in April 2019. This large and prominent boulder stands on a broad north-south ridge, about 50m south of a rocky knoll which is the local high point. The area has been extensively quarried and the panel is at the edge of one of the smaller workings, partly undermined. There are extensive views to the south and east across Speyside.
The panel is a large prominent rounded boulder of grey schist, 3.0m x 2.2m x 1.5m high. It has a smooth flattish face sloping 30 deg to the east. There are 37 cups on that face, clustered in the central section. <2>
