ND35SE 8121 unlocated

NLO: Wick [name: ND 361 508]
Wick Bay [name centred ND 376 506].

Wick, [by telegraph]. The nameboard of a large vessel, having on it the word, `SHOLTON¿, has come ashore.
Source, LL, No. 17,736, London, Monday, February 20 1871.
NMRS, MS/829/72 (no. 11966).

The map sheet and quasi-administrative area assigned to this record are arbitrary, being derived from the reported location of discovery of wreckage. This vessel presumably foundered offshore, possibly beyond Scottish waters.
The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998).
Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 14 February 2007.
