Full Description

A mineral well is depicted on the 1st edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey map of c.1867. The map shows the well sitting directly on the line of a formalised burn. <1> Current mapping shows that the burn has been diverted around the formal rectangular well structure. The spring feeds into the burn to the south-west <2> Both maps annotate the feature as 'mineral well'.
