Full Description

The 2nd edition Ordnance Survey map c.1905 depicts a pier projecting into the loch with an associated small square roofed structure to the immediate south. During a walkover survey in April 2008, the remains of a pier/jetty were noted at this location. Along the bank of Loch Maree there are the bank up remains of a jetty and pathway leading to a rocky outcrop which presumably led to the pier which has now all but gone. There are a few wooden piles standing out of the water, possibly marking the extent of the pier. <1>
